It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our beloved son Scott Gero at the age of 36.
Born June 10, 1986 in Edmonton Alberta, Scott Gero was the son of parents Byron Joseph Gero (father) and Patricia Suzanne Gero (mother).
Scott is survived by Ruth Gero (stepmother), Rebecca Gero (sister) and Kris Gero (brother).
Scott’s interests were mechanics and machining for which he was naturally mechanically inclined. He had the ability and a vast knowledge of how to fix and repair things.
He had a profound love for Jeep 4x4s, off-roading, camping and dirt biking. He enjoyed vehicles and attending car shows with his Uncle Dustyn.
Scott enjoyed complex Lego builds, reading history books about black history, World War II and military books. Scott also had a love of NHL hockey, mainly the Oilers. One of his sayings was “Oilers forever, no matter what happens.”
Scott had a kind heart. The lives he touched will remember his humor and kindness. Our love for Scott is eternal and we wish him everlasting peace.
In lieu of flowers and donations, perhaps provide an unsolicited act of kindness for
someone in Scott’s name.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial will be held by the family.
Ruth, my sincerest condolences to you and your family. Wishing you peace and comfort in knowing that you are all being kept in my thoughts & heart during your difficult time of loss.
Sandy
Byron and Ruth and the Gero Family our deepest condolences on your loss of Scott I feel pain you must be going through
So sorry for the loss of your son. Children should never go before their parents.
I’m sure Scott is walking tall now looking down, with a smile and so much love for all the things you guys did for him and care you gave him, Byron. You were his angel here on earth!?
I pray for your heart to find peace, knowing Scott is in a better place then he was.
Take care! With love,
Lucille and Al
Kris – condolences to you and your family. It’s a tremendous loss and losing a loved one is so overwhelming. There are no words to heal your pain but just know I’m thinking of you and praying for this pain to recede. My thoughts, love and prayers go out to you and your family
Now he can fly with the Eagles
And run with the deer
Now there’s no pain
No sorrow
No fear
Suzanne, Byron, Ruth, Kris, Rebecca and Uncle Dustyn,
Thoughts and prayers to all of you on loss of Scott. He will be missed by many and especially by me.
Scott loved his family very much and was so proud of you all. Scott had the best heart, he was always willing to listening and help anyone. He was so smart when it came to mechanics and machining and could fix and build anything. His gift was making everyone laugh and making sure everyone felt good inside. His family meant the world to him and he talk about them all like they were royalty, cause to Scott you all mattered.
We can all use a little Scott in all of us and not get so caught up with money, work and material things. People mattered to Scott and Scott mattered to us.
RIP buddy and yes I agree Lost Boyz have to be in the top 5 but Tupac Shakur is the grestest ever. Fix an old dirt bike up for me and we can race when I see you again.
Sending my deepest condolences to the Gero family’s, May Scott Rest In Peace and May Light Perpetual Shine Upon Him.

So sorry for the loss of your much loved son Scott. Maybe a suggestion to long term care would be to make a sheet up for the patients room with just exactly who he was before his injury. I am happy to have read who he really was . I am a the wife of Don Bogart, Suzanne’s cousin and my dear friend. Take care of each other at this time! He was lucky to have such good parents!

We will carry out an act of kindness in Scotts name. Our prayers and healing for the family.
Scott surely had a tough go in the last while, now he will rest and be at peace. He got me onto being an Oiler fan when he lived with me and I always think of him while watching a game. I wish comfort for the family as Scott begins a new journey knowing he’ll always be in our hearts. Rest well, my friend.
Scott meant a lot to me and I send my deepest condolences.
