Reginald Edgar Fidgeon

It is with great sadness that the family of Reginald Edgar Fidgeon announces his death on February 9, 2024 in Edmonton, Alberta. He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer 4.5 months ago. Reg was together with family at the time of his passing.

He will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by his wife, Dawne; sister, Lynn; brother Kim and his partner Gayle, as well as many other family and friends.

Reg was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. His 50+ year career was spent in the construction industry. His strong work ethics were modelled in the family business. After that business closed its doors, he became co-owner of a company in Edmonton that he eventually retired from … and dedicated his retirement days to golfing.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to all the medical professionals (too many to name) who supported Reg throughout his journey, for their respect, care and compassion shown to both Reg and Dawne.

There will be a private, family interment held to honor this wonderful man.

When we lose somebody we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind.

I’m sad at the prospect of our brother Reg’s absence. Though we never developed a close relationship, I loved Reg for what he meant to my sister, for loving her, for making her happy. While I will miss him, our infrequent talks and our loose but important bonding through our occupations, I’ll miss the extra obscure little twinkle in Dawne’s eyes when he’s at her side.
