With heavy hearts, we announce that Gloria Jean Klarenbach (nee Cousins), our beloved Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the age of 83.

Gloria was born May 5, 1941 in Weirdale, SK. She was the sixth of nine children born to Sam and Mae Cousins. She grew up in Meath Park, SK, on the family farm, until the age of 18. She then moved to Calgary, and then to Edmonton for a short time before settling in Sherwood Park in 1971. Gloria had five children whom she loved dearly. Along with raising children, she worked as an LPN, and then for Strathcona County providing Home Care, before assisting in the Family and Community Services office until she retired. Gloria’s true passion and pride was her family. She cherished her children, siblings, nieces and nephews, neighbours and especially her Grandkids and Great-grandkids; every time they were around she’d exclaim “You have no idea how much joy this brings me.”

Gloria is survived by her four Daughters; Pam Pilz (Gary), Karen Wells, Darilynn Klarenbach (John McKenzie), Darci Klarenbach, four Grandchildren; Mike Wells (Katie), Kyla Constantin (Chris), Shian McKenzie and Ashton Heggenstaller, five Great-grandchildren; Griffin, Tenlee, Grey, Milena and Rory. She is also survived by her siblings; Lenora Selch, Eileen Prosko, Dorothy Crowe (Pat) and Delbert Cousins (Linda). She also leaves behind numerous Nieces and Nephews that she treasured dearly, and would often gather with them several times a year.

Gloria is predeceased by her parents; Sam and Mae Cousins, her siblings; Kathleen Grelowski, Lillian Kelln, Margaret Koester and Ken Cousins; brother-in-laws; Mike Grelowski, Dennis Koester, Roy Selch, Mel Prosko and Ray Emmons, nieces Melanie Prosko and Marty Emmons and her beloved son; Doug Klarenbach in 2023.

Gloria’s memorial will be held on Sunday, October 6th from 2pm-4pm at the Whitecroft Community Hall (314, 52313 Range Road 232, East Whitecroft). A light lunch and beverages will be served. We invite you to join our family as we remember and celebrate her life, and honor the legacy that lives on in all that knew and loved her.
