Cliff passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2024 at the age of 79 at Cameron Heights ExquisiCare in Edmonton, Alberta.
Cliff was born and raised in Edmonton. He completed his B.Sc. in Chemistry and D.D.S. both at the U of A, and completed a degree in Oral Biology (Periodontics) at the University of California in San Francisco. He practiced in the field of Periodontics for 42 years and he was Department Head of Periodontics at the U of A for a number of years. He was a lifelong learner which enabled him to connect with many people in various countries.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years Kathryn, his children Nancy (Dan) and Lesley (Joseph), and his grandchildren Emma, Abi and Hugh. Cliff was predeceased by his parents Andy and Marje Revell.
Cliff had a deep passion for sports, both as a spectator and participant. Golf, in particular, was a lifelong obsession for him, and he loved all the time spent playing at the Mayfair and had the chance to play at other courses while traveling the world.
While Cliff’s roots were firmly planted in Edmonton, he cherished traveling with Kathryn as snowbirds to Hawaii and Arizona. Their adventures included fond memories of SCUBA diving, swimming, and sailing in Hawaii, as well as golfing and socializing with longtime friends in Arizona.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Cliff’s companion, Shirley, for her compassionate care and the meaningful time she shared with him while he was at home. We are also deeply grateful to the loving staff at ExquisiCare, who created a warm and supportive environment, providing him with the best possible care during the last 16 months of his life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Southminster-Steinhauer United Church (10740 19 Ave. NW, T6J 6W9) on September 21st, 2024 at 1:00 pm. The service will also be livestreamed and available afterwards at https://ssucedmonton.com/live. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta.

Our sympathy and warmest thoughts are with you, Kathy, and your family.
Memories are the legacy of love.
I remember Cliff as the best periodontist.
I was saddened and surprised to learn of Cliff’s death, and the health issues he encountered over the last couple of years. I have fond memories of growing up with him (although he was a year younger) – attending Oliver School, swimming at the 119th Street Pool, skating at the Oliver Community rink, and very many activities associated with First Presbyterian Church.
My sympathies and best wishes to Kathy and his children.
I’m very sorry to hear of you loss, Kathy. My condolences to you and your family.
I remember you shearing your travels together when we had Book Club. I’m glad I net Cliff a couple of times. I wish you and your loved ones comfort and peace as you mourn your loss. Sincere regards, Maureen O’Brien
