Mae Evelyn Phinney (Perley)
April 13, 1950 – October 29, 2024
It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of our mother Mae Evelyn Phinney (Perley) on October 29, 2024, at the age of 74. Mae was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.
Born on April 13, 1950, Mae dedicated her life to her family and community. She was the proud mother of six children: James Phinney (Joylee), Andrew Phinney (Shaylene), Tara Noel (Greg), Gordon Phinney, Elizabeth Clegg, and Bobbie Phinney. Mae’s love extended to her 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Mae was a woman of incredible skill, resourcefulness, and talent. Always with a book in hand, she had a deep love for reading and cherished the quiet moments spent with a good story. She was known for her warmth, always welcoming others with open arms. Mae had a gift for sewing and cooking, and her care for others was evident in everything she did. Whether it was lending a helping hand or offering a kind word, she was always there for her loved ones and anyone in need.
Mae leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of her life will be held for family and friends at 10:00 am, on July 19, 2025, at the LDS Church, 2946 S. Main St. Penticton, BC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mae’s memory to The Canadian Cancer Society.
We were sad to hear the news of Mae’s passing and send our sincere sympathy to all who loved her. May you find comfort in your cherished memories.
Deepest condolences on the loss of my cousin Mae
I am so sad about Mae’s passing, because she was one of my favorite cousins as our families crossed paths on our travels around the world. I was so happy that I had the opportunity to reminisce with her on the phone days before she left us. We laughed over our shopping trip and ice skating in Northern France and surfing on blow up mattresses in Galveston Texas. All though she has passed on she will live in my heart for ever.
Always a bright and resilient light to be around. Sorry to hear of her passing. She earned herself a peaceful rest from her earthly labours I’m sure.
May her survivors be blessed with comfort now and in the years to come!
