It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene (nee Allan) Fjeld, beloved wife of Milton Fjeld, who left us on March 6, 2025, at the age of 82 years. Marlene was born on February 24, 1943, in Regina, Saskatchewan, and spent her final days surrounded by love in Wembley, Alberta.
Marlene was a vibrant spirit who brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. She had a passion for life, which was evident in her many hobbies. Whether she was playing a round of golf, nurturing her beautiful garden, or preparing delicious meals and homemade preserves for her family, Marlene poured her heart into everything she did. Her love for baking shone brightest when she made sugar cookies with her grandchildren, creating sweet memories that will be cherished for generations.
Those who knew her well will remember how she found solace in nature. If ever she was not at home, you could find her outside, tending to her garden or soaking up the sun, a peaceful smile gracing her face.
Marlene is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Milton, who was her partner in every adventure. She also leaves behind a loving family: her son, Wayne (Gayle) of Edmonton, AB, and her grandchildren, Ben and Christina, along with her great-grandchildren; her daughter, Heather of Calgary, AB, and her grandchildren, Nicole, Tyler, and Megan, and great-grandson, Jaxon; her son, Dean (Bev) from Canyon Creek, AB, and their children, Victoria, Haley, and Jed; her daughter, Kerry (Sheldon) of Sturgeon Lake, AB; and her son, Jason (Jodi) of Wembley, AB, and her grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Brody, and Jade.
Marlene’s family, including numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends, will miss her deeply. She was a source of strength and love, and her legacy of generosity and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Marlene was predeceased by her parents, James Henry and Margaret Stewart (nee Hill) Allan; as well as her two brothers, Mervyn and Mansel, and her nine sisters, Lily, Mary, Muriel, Laura, Vera, Isabel, Madilene, Bernice, and Electa.
A celebration of Marlene’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to share stories, laughter, and love in honor of a remarkable woman who has left an indelible mark on our lives.
Marlene, you will forever be remembered for your warmth, your laughter, and the love you so freely gave. May you rest in peace.
Our heartfelt condolences to Milton and entire family. She was truly the glue, the matriarch that held us all together; the ring leader for all the shenanigans, the nurturer for those in need of love and compassion, she was truly just a beautiful person that welcomed so many into her world. We will truly miss you Aunt Marlene, but know you were greeted loving by all our ancestors that have gone before us? and know like them you will continue to watch over us and guide us until we meet again. Again sincere condolences to all who will miss her deeply?
