With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Richard Allan Urban of Edmonton, Alberta, who left us peacefully on September 20, 2025, at the age of 59, with his wife by his side.
He shared 34 years with his loving wife Shonna, and was a devoted dad to Ashley (Hassan) and Nathan. His grandsons, Isaac and Zayn, adored him. Richard will also be lovingly remembered by his sister Deb (Richard), his brothers Dale (Donna), Daryl (Deb), his mother in law Brenda (Bill) and many other beloved family members.
He is now reunited with his brother Bruce and parents Joseph and Elizabeth Urban.
For Isaac and Zayn, Grandpa was the undisputed king of snow hills, creating countless winter memories, and no one had a better catching hand for a ball toss than he did.
Those who knew Richard will remember his open heart and witty spirit. Always ready with a firm handshake, a quick smile and a helping hand. There was little he could not repair and he took pride in being there for anyone in need of a hand.
Whether you crossed paths with him on the open highway riding his motorcycle with friends, in his garage “Man Cave”, or out mowing the grass, you were sure to walk away feeling lighter. His warmth, humor, and gentle strength will be missed beyond measure.
Richards spirit will forever ride on in the memories and stories shared by all who loved him.
