Margaret Goertz of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 90 years. She spent most of her final year in Sherwood Park, Alberta, in a lodge.
Marg is lovingly remembered and survived by her daughters, Cathy (Lyndon) and Sandie (Erik), her daughter-in-law Carol (Doug), her grandchildren, Amanda (Quinn), Kirsten, Danielle (Andrew), Michael, Brandon and Cierra, her sister, Marion and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Harvey (2024) and her son Doug (2024).
It was Marg’s wishes that there be no formal service and that her ashes be scattered in a private ceremony with her children and grandchildren.
Marg was a loving mom, grandmother and aunt. She loved her children and grandchildren greatly and her life was centred around them. She always made sure to have cookies in the cookie jar that the grandchildren were encouraged to “sneak” and other favourite foods and snacks to make sure that everyone knew they were special to her. She along with her husband, Harvey, attended as many of the grandchildren’s sporting events and dance events as they could, some days attending several games/dances to fit everyone in.
She loved her garden and in the summer enjoyed spending her days outside in her garden, listening and watching the birds.
Marg will be greatly missed by her family, who are taking solace that her last year was lived how she wanted, doing everything she wanted and happily living her best life.
