On January 11, 2026, Lionel Daniel Bouchard passed away at the age of 61 years in Edmonton, AB.
Lionel was born in Spirit River, AB, on April 27, 1964. Lionel attended NAIT and later MarTech College. He lead a long career in the transportation industry as a driver and eventually as an operations manager. He was a lifelong golf lover, and growing up in Edmonton, he would spend many weekends with his brother on the course. He also enjoyed skiing with his friends and family, and was an avid spectator of hockey, golf, and football.
Predeceased by his father, Gaspard Gaston Bouchard (1999); his mother, Yvette Bouchard (2016); and his brother, Gerald Bouchard (1984).
Survived by two daughters, Danielle and Chantal; his partner, Darlene, and her son, Joshua.
He will be deeply missed by his friends and loved ones, and remembered for his humour, work ethic, and acts of kindness.
Per his wishes, Lionel has been cremated, and no funeral service will be held. His remains will be buried in his family’s plot at the Holy Cross Cemetery in the spring, and a celebration of life will be arranged before that time.

I’m sorry I have not seen Lionel in many years. My father was Léo, brother to Yvette.
Lionel was my cousin. I have many memories of Lionel and family visiting years ago. Memories of his brother Gerald as well. May Lionel rest in peace.
Hello friends and family of Lionel, I am Lionels youngesf first cousin, I have fond memories of Lionel, his father Gaspard, his mother Yvette and brother Gerald. My dad really enjoyed company with Gaspard and Yvette is cherished by my mom Lucille. The heart break of losing Gerald was tragic and it was a loss that was very difficult to recover from. Lionel was always good to me, I have a picture with him from 1978 would love to share with Danielle and Chantal. I saw Danielle and Chantal once, would really love to one day speak with Danielle and Chantal! My wife Sophie and I have 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls ages 6 through 21.
