Kasper Rigelhof
April 5 1922 – July 26 2023

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kasper Rigelhof at the age of 101.

Kasper was predeceased by his loving wife Mary Rigelhof (Puff); and sisters Catherine (VanNest), Amelia (Gerlinsky), Elizabeth, and Cecelia (Ormel); brothers Frank, Michael, and Stephen. He leaves to mourn his passing his sister Ann (Stauch) in Regina and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kasper was born and raised on the home farm in Altario, Alberta to parents George & Carolina Rigelhof. He was called up into the army in the fall of 1942 and served with the coast guard on our west coast before being sent overseas. He returned in the spring of 1946 to the family farm. He then purchased land in the Blackfoot, Alberta area where he farmed for 8 years before buying a farm just outside of Nanton, Alberta and farmed there for 25 years before retiring.

In retirement Kasper and his lovely wife Mary took holidays in numerous places such as Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Mexico. Most of all they enjoyed the trips all over Canada and the U.S. with their RV.

The family wishes to thank all the dedicated health care professionals who cared for Kasper in the last months of his life. A special thanks go out to the Kipnes Center for Veterans in Edmonton, Alberta.

At Kasper’s request there will be no funeral. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.

Marguerite Edna Younger

Born June 25, 1931 in Vegreville, AB, died July 24,2023 in Sherwood Park, AB.

It is with great sorrow that Marguerite’s family announce her passing at the age of 92.

She leaves to mourn her sisters Genevieve Weder and Lillian Towe, as well as sons Bill (Kay), Joseph (Gwen), Maurice (Colleen), Richard, and James (Rose); daughters Barbara (Jim) and Jean (Craig), and daughter-in-law Nicole; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents John and Irene Ziegler; husband Lee; son Douglas; and brothers-in-law Robert Weder and Earl Towe.

Her warm smile and cheerful disposition will be sorely missed by all.

Special thanks to all staff at the Sherwood Care for their compassionate care and kindness.

Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 8, 2023, at Whitecroft Community Hall, #314 – 52313 Range Road 232 in Sherwood Park.

Edward (Ted) Mortimer

With great sadness we announce that Ted Mortimer passed away at the age of 84 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth of 64 years; his
daughter Wendy (Glenn); his grandchildren Miranda and Kurtis; and nieces Wanda (Kevin) and Christina (Darrell).

Ted will be remembered as a caring husband and father whose sense of humor brought great joy to those that knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date

Arthur Woodville Wilks New

Arthur Woodville Wilks New passed away on July 4, 2023 at the Edmonton General Extended Care Facility.

He was pre-deceased by his Father Arthur New and Mother Winnifred New, and wife of 30 years Judith New. He is survived by his Sister Joan Goodman (Eric Goodman), Son Arthur John W., Grandson Arthur John I., and Nephew Ian Goodman and Niece Elaine Guile (Goodman).

Arthur was a long time Dental Technician in Edmonton, member at Highlands Golf Club and an avid outdoorsman. He made many people laugh over the years, was very
dedicated to his family and passions. He will be greatly missed but will live long in
memories. Especially every time we hear a crow call!

A Celebration of Arthur’s life will be held on July 26, 2023 at Highland Golf Club, 6603 Ada Blvd NW, Edmonton, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Please contact Arthur Jr to RSVP.

Dustin Eric Woiwod

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dustin Woiwod, our grandson, son, brother, nephew, uncle, or cousin and friend. Our Gentle Giant, Dustin, passed away suddenly on July 9th at 39 years of age.

Dustin’s kind heart, smile and warm personality touched many lives. He enjoyed cooking, swimming, playing games, watching movies, and spending time with family & friends. We will remember the good times, shared laughter & fun memories.

Dustin is survived by his grandfathers, Siegfried Woiwod & Donald Blackley; his father, Frederick Woiwod; mother, Carmella Woiwod (Alain); his brother, Damion Woiwod
(Tracie); nephews, Holton & Jaxson Woiwod, and his many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Dustin always thought of others and would help in any way that he could. He never missed a goodnight call or text to his two nephews who were the apple of his eye. Even though our Gentle Giant was taken far too soon our memories will last forever.

A celebration of Dustin’s life will be held on July 29th at the Rundle Family Centre (2903 – 113 Avenue) at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers or donations Dustin would have preferred that you spend time with your loved ones. In honour of Dustin, his family is creating a Memory Wall with pictures of the people he loved having good times together. If you are open to sharing a picture of you and your family having fun together for the wall, please forward it to Damion or Carmie.

Debra Marie Cyr

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Debra Cyr on July 7, 2023 at the age of 66.

Predeceased by her husband Richard in May 2012, Debra is
survived by her son Trevor (Karen), her daughter Shannon, her
father Dennis, her sister Kathy, and her granddaughter Daphne, along with many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Debra was a loving mother and grandmother, who adored her cats and had an eye for
antiques. Her laugh was infectious, and with a cup of coffee in hand, she could talk for hours on the phone with those she cherished most.

Gone too soon, Debra will be dearly missed, loved, and never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks.

Heinz Weibel

After years of struggle with various illnesses, Heinz Weibel passed peacefully at home July 11th, 2023 with loved ones at his side.

He leaves to mourn his loss, daughters, Bobbi (Jeremy Baxter) and Jen; grandchildren Kane, Grayson, Jake, and Lily; his siblings Hans, Maya, and Chris; and his nephew and nieces. He was predeceased by his mother Alice Moser, father Fred, and brother Roland.

Born August 28th, 1952 in Olten, Switzerland, Heinz moved to Canada as a young boy. In his lifetime, Heinz owned a couple of retail shops but mainly worked in the
transportation industry, starting a successful courier business, then as an ETS bus driver, and finally as an independent long haul professional driver before retiring due to illness.

His family will hold a private Celebration of Life at a later date.

Patrick Michael Curtis

April 12, 1974 – July 10, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick on July 10th, 2023 in Edmonton at the age of 49.

He was predeceased by his father Allan and his
granddaughter Elizibeth.

Patrick will be mourned and remembered by his mother Shirley, his daughter Sara (Amanda), His sons Patrick Tait and Jesse (mother Jana), his grandson Christapher, his brothers Christopher (Jenelyn), Daniel (Kerri-Ann) and David (Dayna), his sisters Katy and Donna (Matt), as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Patrick was a free spirit and liked to be his own person. He lived his life on his own terms. Pat had a tender side and liked to see the beauty around him. He loved his
furbabies, especially his cats. He was proud of his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews, and when he was able to visit always enjoyed his time with them. He is loved by many and will be sadly missed.

We would like to thank the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for doing all they could to help Patrick during his stay.

We are having a public viewing July 19th, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Simply Cremations 5224 99 Street NW, Edmonton AB.

We will have a celebration of life at a later date and will announce it in the FB Memory of Patrick page

Susan Carol Svarich

Susan passed away surrounded by family on June 30th 2023 at the age of 77 years. Predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years Ron Svarich.

Sharing in mourning her loss include siblings Grant (Rita), Avril, Pam (Terry), Greg (Debbie), Mignonne (Garry), George (Wendy), brother in Law Doug. Not to mention 25 Nieces & Nephews, 30 Greats, 2 great greats and Countless friends and colleagues. One very special lifelong Friend Bernice Briggs and her entire family.

Sue was a career teacher both in the classroom and to all around her, especially the
family. She so loved all the kids and developed special relationships with each one.

Sue loved animals, in particular , Horses. Her life revolved around them and niece Leah is caring for her one surviving horse.

She was one of a kind, lived life her way and to the fullest.
A LIFE WELL LIVED!

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held September 9th beginning at 1:00, 51509-RR222. This is a celebration, please come casual and with all your stories about Sue.

Penny Marleen Bramley

Penny Marleen Bramley
1947 – 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Penny Bramley, in Edmonton, at the age of 76.

Penny and her husband, Cliff, were devoted to each other and celebrated over 34 happy years of marriage raising three daughters – Kim (Don), Sherri, Lisa – doting on their four grandchildren – Corrina (Mike), Braiden, Jessie, Olivia – two great grandchildren – Kaydin, Caleb . She enjoyed many memorable moments with extended family – Rick, Diane and family, Aunt Donius, Doug and family, Lorna, Andy and family – as well as with many more family, friends and neighbours.

Penny will always be remembered for her kind heart, gentle smile and generosity. We also remember her creating and gifting beautiful needlepoint artwork including 3 foot high ‘Pink Lady & Blue Boy’, handsewn and crafted personalized presents and knitted guest slippers.

Everyone enjoyed and requested her family food favourites like her signature lasagna, ‘Popeye’ and delicious baked goods – chocolate chip cookies and jewel chocolate cake.
Her community contributions included directing and coaching girls basketball, caring about the children on her school bus, and meticulously managing financial matters and operations in business and public service.

In memory of Penny, a donation could be made to the Stollery Children’s Foundation or to another charity of your choice.

Cremation has taken place; as per Penny’s wishes, no service will be held.
