It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our beloved son Scott Gero at the age of 36.

Born June 10, 1986 in Edmonton Alberta, Scott Gero was the son of parents Byron Joseph Gero (father) and Patricia Suzanne Gero (mother).

Scott is survived by Ruth Gero (stepmother), Rebecca Gero (sister) and Kris Gero (brother).

Scott’s interests were mechanics and machining for which he was naturally mechanically inclined. He had the ability and a vast knowledge of how to fix and repair things.
He had a profound love for Jeep 4x4s, off-roading, camping and dirt biking. He enjoyed vehicles and attending car shows with his Uncle Dustyn.

Scott enjoyed complex Lego builds, reading history books about black history, World War II and military books. Scott also had a love of NHL hockey, mainly the Oilers. One of his sayings was “Oilers forever, no matter what happens.”

Scott had a kind heart. The lives he touched will remember his humor and kindness. Our love for Scott is eternal and we wish him everlasting peace.

In lieu of flowers and donations, perhaps provide an unsolicited act of kindness for
someone in Scott’s name.

Cremation has taken place. A private memorial will be held by the family.

Dwayne Lloyd Williams

It is with a heavy heart that we honour the memory of Dwayne Lloyd Williams who passed away unexpectedly on November 9th 2022. He wasn’t the richest man, by any means, but he gave generously without asking for anything in return. From his last dime, to the shirt off his back. He wasn’t perfect, he was flawed like we all are, he recognised this and tried not to judge. He was smart and full of knowledge that he was always ready to teach anyone willing to listen and learn. It wasn’t always easy for him to express himself to others and he wasn’t always taken the way he intended. But, I hope he knew he was loved and he mattered and he will be missed more than you’ll ever know.
He is survived by his son Micheal Williams and daughter Danelle Roth, grandchildren Zachary Murray and Arion Murray, siblings Sandy, Debbie, Steven, Robert and his close friend Darlene Evanoff.
He is predeceased by his mother Rose Irene (Plante) and father Lloyd Simon Williams.

Moratto, Catherine Eve (Noni/Cathy/Kasia)

It is with great sadness that the family of Kasia (Cathy) Moratto announces her passing. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 16, 2022 at age 82.

Cathy is survived by her sons Tony (Jean) and Danny, and her daughter Anita (Glen); grandchildren Alex (Rebecca), Mateya, and Sydney; great grandchildren Sacha and Nico; sisters Tosia and Marysia, and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Mario; sisters Irena, Jadzia, Lucia, and Lila; brothers Apolynary, Valenty, and Heniek; parents Daniel and Marta Hulko.

Cathy will be lovingly remembered for her firecracker personality and support for her family. She loved cheering on her children and grandchildren at sporting events and was so proud of their accomplishments. Cathy was an avid traveler, and took many trips to Mexico with her dear friend Joan and each of her children. She also loved reading, listening to the opera, and dancing to Lionel Ritchie.

In her later life she spoke more about her childhood; born in Dubnowicze, her family were displaced Polish refugees after the Soviet occupation of Poland. They traveled through many countries including Iraq, Kazakhstan and Tanzania. Despite her turbulent early life, Cathy spoke highly of their travels, and told stories of her first visit back to Poland and her desire to travel to Africa. In 1951, the family moved to Edmonton and began their life in Canada.

Cathy met Mario at a dance hall in Edmonton, and she said the earth shook the first time she saw him. They married on July 2, 1960; spending many years traveling together to Slovenia, Croatia, Italy and Germany. Their children and grandchildren fondly remember spending time with them at the cabin, enjoying the outdoors and each other’s company. Cathy and Mario were married for 59 years before his passing in 2019.

Cathy loved her family dearly, and we loved our Noni. There will always be a space in our hearts and the rooms of our gatherings for her. Cathy asked that there not be a funeral service, so we ask you to toast and have a private celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Cathy’s name to the charity of your choice.
