It is with deep and overwhelming grief and sadness that we
announce the passing of Robin Scott Graham Hodgetts on October 17, 2022 after a brave and difficult battle with
pancreatic cancer.

He was predeceased by his father, Graham. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Karen, and their 3 children, Cassandra (Jason), Kyle, and Matthew. He also leaves behind his mother, Gloria, older sister Terra (Dwayne) and older brother, Blair (Karen). He will be missed by many family members and friends.

Robin was an incredible man. Born to Gray and Gloria Hodgetts on May 31, 1965, he was the youngest of 3 children. He met his wife when he was 16 years old, and they have been together ever since. Robin grew up working for his dad, eventually going on to become a master machinist and president of the family business, Grayling. He grew up loving all types of music and learned many different instruments throughout his life. He picked up piano, bass guitar, drums, and the guitar. He also loved to sing and played in multiple bands throughout his lifetime. He passed his love for music down to each of his children.

Robin was made to be a dad, and was a fantastic father to his 3 kids. He had a deep love for his family, and was an extremely active part of everybody’s lives. He was very proud of his family and never missed an opportunity to say so. Robin was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and made every effort to give his family the best life. He touched countless lives through his kindness, wisdom, and compassion. He developed deep bonds with the people he loved that lasted a lifetime. Robin made sure that
everyone around him knew how much he loved them. He will be greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made by directing your donation to Pancreatic Cancer Research through the Canadian Cancer Society in Robin’s honour. Donations are not expected but appreciated.

Carleton Franklyn Hirtle passed away at the age of 73 on October 15,2022 in Kipnes Centre for Veterans in Edmonton Alberta.

Born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia he was the son of Franklyn & Myrtle (Keans ) Hirtle. Carleton joined the armed forces in 1967 at the age of 18 and travelled to many different places around the globe. When he returned to Liverpool he scallop fished for many years, and he was known for being one of the best scallop shuckers. He moved west around 1987, where he fished for a time in Prince Rupert and also did construction work.

Carleton is survived by his sister Peggy (Willard) Woodworth, brother Danny (Diana) Hirtle, sister Patty Peach (John ), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by both parents.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Simply Cremations & Funeral Services in Edmonton, Alberta. A Graveside service in Milton Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Clifford William George Smith was born on November 13, 1968 in Marys Harbour, NF and passed away, with his wife at his side holding his hand, on October 16, 2022 at University of Alberta Hospital.

Cliff was a kind hearted, loving man and loyal husband. He had a heart of gold and was often helping single moms in need. He had a serious soft spot for dogs and loved his dog Toni like a child.

As Cliff wanted there will not be any service to commemorate his death. Cliff would rather you all remember him in your own way and to smile when you think of him. Should anyone wish to do something to show their respects in a more physical way, please make a donation in his name at your local animal shelter or to a place that helps single moms in crisis.

Cliffs parents are both predeceased.

Left to mourn this huge loss are his wife (Trish), his three siblings, and an arsenal of friends and family that will miss him deeply.

Cliffy, you’ve left an unfillable void and you will be deeply missed beyond what words can express. You were loved by many!

Marjorie Parkinson December 27 1930 to October 20 2022
Marjorie passed peacefully in the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at the age of 91. She was dearly loved by her late husband Jack. Survived by her children Wendy and Rodney, granddaughter Amanda, great grandson AJ and nieces Mandy and Susan.
Marjorie was a dancer; she was passionate about animals and her gardening and remodeling projects. She was an amazing mum and Nana and was deeply loved by all who knew her.

May 7, 1944 – June 8, 2022

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of a proud husband, father, brother, nino, uncle and friend. He fiercely loved those closest to him.

Lloyd was born in Fort Smith and lived many years in the Northwest Territories. He and his wife, Graciela (née Oliver Nuñez), chose Beaumont, Alberta as the place to raise their children, Marcela and Michael. After losing his hearing unexpectedly in his forties, Lloyd decided to work toward his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta. One of his daughter’s fondest memories is meeting on campus as they both
pursued their studies. After graduating, he became a Professional Engineer, one of his proudest achievements.

Lloyd loved traveling with his wife, enjoying beautiful experiences together across
several countries and making friends along the way. He also loved playing golf, especially with his son, gathering closest family for meals and celebrations, sharing jokes and
laughter, and caring for the family’s pets.

He believed in giving back to the community. From receiving a “Heart of Gold” award sponsored by Air Canada and the Canadian Community Newspaper Association, to
traveling across North America to promote careers in STEM to Indigenous youth, his support of organizations and people made a difference and remains part of his legacy.

As per Lloyd’s wishes, immediate family held a private event to honour him.

While his family grieves the loss of his physical presence in their lives, they take comfort in knowing he lives on in the beauty that surrounds and embraces them.

“He is always in our hearts.”

As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made in Lloyd’s honour to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or any animal rescue.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Kirk Frederick Cline on October 12, 2022 in Edmonton, Alberta. Kirk was born in Port Dover, Ontario on March 23, 1958. He moved to the South Cooking Lake area in 1967 where he later met the love of his life, Clara, whom he married in 1980. Kirk, together with his wife, raised six children and over the years his family expanded to include nine grandchildren and many beloved dogs. Kirk considered himself the richest man in the world because of the love of his family and friends and his most cherished memories were made spending time with those he loved.

Kirk is predeceased by his parents Janet and Fred, and his sister Kim. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Clara, their six boys; James (Carolynn), Steve (Susie), Adam (Kristen), Justin, Michael (Laura), and Daniel (Amanda), and grandchildren; Austin, Abigail, Noah, Jacqueline, Elizabeth, Henry, Tyler G., Brooklyn, and Tyler J. And brother Ken (Sariena), and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. All of whom will miss him dearly.

It is with sad hearts we mourn the passing of our loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister,cousin, friend.

She was very special to many people, and everyone she met held a special place in her heart. Her smile and laughter will be missed, and her razor sharp tongue and sense of humor.

The family of Scott Fysh sadly announces his death on September 22, 2022. He will be remembered with love by his mother, Georgina; his sister, Stacy; his nephew, Baxter; and many relatives and friends.

Scott had a kind heart, he loved all sports, and being outdoors. He enjoyed listening to music and was an avid reader. The lives he touched will remember his humour and his kindness. Our love for Scott is eternal. We wish him everlasting peace.

A private memorial will be held by the family.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon D. Bunnin (nee Hollar) on Sunday, October 02, 2022 at the Strathcona Care Centre, Harvest House. Sharon has gone to be with her beloved Dad “Pat” Hollar and Mother Aileen Prossar (Parker).

Sharon worked many years in Edmonton: Film Services, Northwest Color Labs
(Supervisor), the Bay (Manager) and AGT / Telus Manager of Credit and Collections. Sharon was a person of influence and loved to be busy; thus, her many, many volunteer hours after early retirement in 1989.

Sharon was a very competent and confident speaker who MC’d many events. Sharon loved and worked tirelessly at her volunteer activities, which included:

• Participation on a pilot project to take credit counselling in to Edmonton schools.

• Edmonton Red Cross Society, Equipment Loans, two years.

• The Society of Retired and Semi-Retired, Edmonton, four years (Travel Club Chair, Board of Directors, Finance Committee).

• Project work with then Edmonton Mayor, Jan Reimer, working to shorten business
application requirements and times down to a more reasonable level.

• Capital Health and the Strathcona Community Health Council (1999-2005) on the Supportive Living Quality Council (ensuring licenses and inspections were in place).

• Involved in the projects to create Health First Strathcona Primary Care Centre (2004), to get a hospital in Sherwood Park, and CASA House (for troubled youth).

• Seniors Advisory Committee (2007-2011), planning the annual Senior Jamboree for Strathcona County.

• Strathcona County Social Services, part of the group who developed protocol to deal with family violence, abuse and bullying.

• Family and Community Services Active Living Conferences.

• President and Board Member for Summit Pointe Condo Corporation, Sherwood Park (1998-2014).

• Many Trade Fairs for the Health Council, Cathy Oleson as MLA and Mayor, and for Roxanne Carr in her bid for Mayor.

• Appointed to the Affordable Housing Implementation Committee and the Housing Needs Assessment Committee (2008-2011).

In 2011 Sharon received a Stars of Alberta Volunteer Award for her outstanding
community service in the volunteer sector.

Sharon loved animals, especially horses, dogs and birds. She was a big fan of the Edmonton Oilers. Sharon was generous, kind, and always willing to listen to others’ point of view. She was a great person and a wonderful friend.

Besides her parents, Sharon was predeceased by a son, Alan Guse. Sharon leaves to mourn her passing her best friend Shirley Kopp, and the Kopp family; son Doug Guse;
siblings Linda and Lawrence Hollar and Yvonne Ewasiw; numerous nieces, nephews,
grandchildren; plus, many friends and colleagues.

We wish to thank Sharon’s caregivers, where she was treated with dignity and respect, at SCC Harvest House since May 2018 and Dickensfield in 2017.

Sharon was cremated and will be interred with her father in the Erskine, AB cemetery.
