It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Leonard Thomas Landry, age 56, on May 13, 2020, while surrounded by his family and friends.

Lenny was born in Oakville, Ontario, grew up in Pictou, Nova Scotia, and then later moved to Alberta with his wife and daughter. He was a skilled Millwright by trade, was passionate about sports and music, and never turned down a good time.

Lenny never missed a beat with his witty personality and was known for his charm. He took the time to learn sayings in many different languages, usually along the lines of, “You look beautiful today.” Lenny always had a story to tell, had an unparalleled sense of humor, and through his journey his spark never faded. Lenny left this world the same way he entered it, making everyone smile.

He is survived by his mother JoAnn Landry; father Patrick “BoBo” Landry (Diane); sister Terri Veniot; wife Nikki Landry; children, Patrick MacDonald, Julia Landry, Josh Smith (Megan), Kayla Smith (Michelle); nieces Naomi and Niki Veniot; grandson Shayl Smith; and best friend, Bruce Hebert.

The family wishes to thank all those who were involved in Lenny’s care including the compassionate staff at the Good Samaritan Mill Woods Centre.

As per Lenny’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. He requested that his friends and family celebrate his life through laughter and sharing stories.

Richard Walter Glunz of Devon, Alberta passed away on Thursday April 30, 2020 at the University of Alberta Hospital in his 90th year. Richard was born in Buffalo, New York, USA. He was a long term dedicated professional staff member of CBC for 31 years as a Television Technician in both Toronto and Edmonton. Richard is survived by his loving wife Maria Jesusa Glunz and his daughter Mary St. Agnes Glunz. He lived in Toronto for 22 years and was formerly married to Lorraine Stallknecht. They had a son Danny (predeceased) and moved to Thorsby, Alberta where they had their daughter Kimberly Johnson (Blair), who have two children – Richard’s grandson Logan and granddaughter Emily. They had a son John (Shelene), who have two children – Richard’s granddaughter Alysha and Grandson Brent.

Richard was predeceased by his father Howard Glunz and by his mother Genevieve Jauch. Richard leaves behind his extended family – brother Howard Glunz (Jane) in Toronto, and his sister Joan Martin (predeceased Jerry) and his nieces Dianne Ring (Dean) great nephew (Patrick), and Caroline Mulligan (Chris), Predeceased nephew Brad. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Pineau (Harry) but lovingly remembered by his nephews Mike Pineau (Bernice), great niece Stephanie , and great nephew Nathan all of Peterborough, Ontario; nephew John Pineau (Elizabeth) of Mattawa Ontario, and great-nieces Miriam, Sarah (great great nephew Ian) and Jill, and predeceased by great nephew Mike; his niece Suzanne Holden (Steve McConkey), great newphews Derek and Brett and great niece Nicole, and his nephew Dave Pineau (Annette Brouwer) and great niece Hailey and great nephews Mark and Ben.

Many people touched Richard’s life including his four personal caregivers (Peter, Kathleen, Lana and Genevieve), two personal nurses (Rose and Dea), and the Nursing home nurses: Fiona, Carla, Haydee, Bailey,Tracy, Lisa, Kelly, Ardis and social workers Nicole Darko and Minette Brese, the OT and PT and Dr.Donna Klay his Family Doctor.

Richard loved curling, hockey, football and watching his recorded movies, especially Romancing the Stone. Richard believed: Celebrate the good things in life, work hard, always do your best and make the world a little better than how you found it…

On Saturday, May 2, 2020, William Cyril Mashinter passed away at the age of 81. Bill was born in Toronto, Ontario, he moved west and made Edmonton, Alberta his home.
Bill was a kind and loving man who will be dearly missed. Bill was preceded in death by his Mother Rose, Father Cyril, and Son-in-law David. He is survived by his loving wife Sally; his daughters Laura (John) and Stacy (Ethan); his stepdaughters Laurie (Grant, Zacharie, Breanna) and Tammy (Lee, Joshua, Taylor).
At Bill’s request there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
