Carleton Franklyn Hirtle passed away at the age of 73 on October 15,2022 in Kipnes Centre for Veterans in Edmonton Alberta.
Born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia he was the son of Franklyn & Myrtle (Keans ) Hirtle. Carleton joined the armed forces in 1967 at the age of 18 and travelled to many different places around the globe. When he returned to Liverpool he scallop fished for many years, and he was known for being one of the best scallop shuckers. He moved west around 1987, where he fished for a time in Prince Rupert and also did construction work.
Carleton is survived by his sister Peggy (Willard) Woodworth, brother Danny (Diana) Hirtle, sister Patty Peach (John ), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by both parents.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Simply Cremations & Funeral Services in Edmonton, Alberta. A Graveside service in Milton Cemetery will be held at a later date.
