FRANCOIS XAVIER COURTEAU
September 22, 1942 – October 14, 2024
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Francois (Frank) Xavier Courteau, announce his passing on October 14, 2024, at the age of 82.
Frank was born in St. Boniface, Winnipeg on September 22, 1942. He was the youngest of 12 children who were all predeceased before him.
Frank will be greatly missed by his wife Cathy Cavanagh, his children, Michelle (Doug Rogers) and Rob (Wendy Courteau) and his grandchildren Ethan and Taylor, his stepdaughter Melissa Yates-Larson (Adam) and grandsons Desmond and Erik Yates-Larson, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Frank worked for CN most of his life as an accident investigator, retired early and enjoyed his retirement. He enjoyed watching hockey football and almost every other sport that was on.
Frank was an extraordinary person. He was a bright light to anyone who ever met him. He had the opportunity to do one of the many things that he loved in life. He had a great love for children. He spread his love and joy as Santa, along with his wife as Mrs. Claus to every child and family that they met for many years.
Frank was always up for a good game of Cribbage and Scrabble and he especially loved playing the game “Sticks”!
Frank will leave a big void in the hearts of many but our memories of all the great times we had will live on forever.
A private celebration of life will be held for family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Santas Anonymous.

He will be dearly missed I am sure

Dawn Courteau

I was so saddened upon hearing of Uncle Frank’s passing. Even though he was my late husband Denis’
Uncle and godfather, I always felt he was my family member too.
I am sure Denis and Frank are together again celebrating their favorite holiday Christmas all year long!
My condolences to Cathy, Michelle, Rob and family. Thinking of all of you during this difficult time. With sympathy, Dawn Courteau
