John M Clarke Former RSM 2 PPCLI

Kathie and family on behalf of my wife Renee and I please accept our deepest condolences. John Powell was one of the finest soldiers that ever served with 2PPCLI. I have some great memories when he and I served with the Bn. John was an excellent soldier and a wonderful person.

It is with absolute sadness that I have learned of John’s passing. He was an outstanding soldier and man; and I know that he will be deeply missed by all who have had the good fortune to have come in contact with him. My sincerest condolences to Kathie, Sarah, Rayna and Jill and to John’s extended family. May this Giant of a man rest in eternal peace under the Lord’s perpetual overwatch.

Kathie and family. Words cannot soften the pain and emotion you are going through with John’s passing. John will be fondly remembered as a great soldier who always seemed to have a smile and kind word for all. May you have comfort in knowing that many younger soldiers looked up to him for advice and direction. Johh’s legacy will live on, even though he is not physically with us today. May God give you the peace of heart as you and the family go through your loss.

Airborne Social Club (Edmonton)

Kathie and family please accept our deepest condolences. John, was a true soldier and friend to his airborne brothers. John whose mission in life was to serve others rather than himself will be remembered by all who served with or around him. Although not with us he will live on as we who are left go on. John was a great soul:

A GREAT SOUL
“A Great Soul serves everyone,
All the time.
A great Soul Never Dies,
It brings us together
Again And Again

Saddened today to hear the news. Rest easy John. Condolences to all of the family.
As my first section commander in 2PPCLI John provided the example of leadership and professionalism that has guided many of us throughout our military carreers and beyond.
Never to be forgotten.
