It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister, favorite aunt and friend, Linda Ann Geals ( Lulu/ Gilly) after a short battle with cancer. Those who knew Linda, speak of her contagious laughter, community-minded spirit and love of her family. Linda was a devoted fan and volunteer for the Canmore Eagles and a proud member of the Canmore Legion. While being welcomed into the sky by her mom Grace, and dad Allan, she leaves behind her sisters Sharon and Michele, her nieces Rebecca (Dennis), Carissa (Karl) and Megan (Dustin), her only nephew Brandon (Misty) as well as her great nephews Atticus and Oliver and her great niece Emery. Linda surrounded herself with incredibly supportive woman and will be dearly missed by her “sistas” as well. A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on October 19th at the Canmore Legion. It is being asked that you please to wear jerseys to commemorate her love of hockey. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for a donation to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Jumpstart Program benefiting youth in sport.
I am saddened to learn of Linda’s passing. My heart goes out to all her family and friends, she had the most amazing laugh, which made you want to laugh. She will be missed by all who knew her. Consider yourselves hugged.

My thoughts are with you both and your families throughout this very difficult time. Though I never actually met Linda in person, I felt the kind of presence she had with whoever she was with and wherever she went. We actually joked alot about her winning the lottery so she could come out and visit her Australian cousins.

Linda’s passing leaves a big hole in the hearts of those that knew her. She may be gone but will never be forgotten. Our heartfelt condolences to her family.
Linda always had a kind word for everyone. Her heart was big and her laugh loud. She championed the underdog and always wanted the best for people. Her mind was open, just like her arms.
She made the world a brighter place.
I am so so saddened to hear this news. Linda was the first person to be nice to me when I arrived from Exshaw to Canmore for grade 7. She invited me to her birthday party, which was always the first party of the new school year..
She always has a warm greeting and a kind word for everyone. A wonderful generous heart has left us.

Althought it was over 20 years ago that I played ball and hung out with Linda I remember her kindness, her love of sports, and all her contributions to the Canmore Community. We remainded facebook friends throughout the years and I admired her cheerfullness and courage as she battled cancer. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Linda was truly one of a kind. And kind isn’t even a strong enough word for her. She was one of the sweetest ladies, when I first met her at darts. I was super young and she was extremely patience and nice as I navigated through the league of darts. She has always been super kind and wished me happy birthday every year through Facebook. Her soul will be missed. Condolences to the family, she is amazing even still in spirit.

Sending deepest condolences to Linda’s family and friends. Although there was a big distance between us, we kept intouch over the years. I was lucky enough for her to come watch my step grandson play hockey. We caught up and laughed a lot. She was one amazing person.
