With deep love and sorrow, we mark the peaceful passing of Brenda Jean Thibodeau (MacDougall) on July 11, 2026, at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre. After enduring a long, exhausting battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s/Dementia, she slipped away softly into rest.
Born on December 26, 1954 in Bloomfield, PE, Brenda was known throughout her life for her fiercely loyal heart and unmatched work ethic. She loved big and gave endlessly; if you were fortunate enough to experience Brenda’s love, you were truly among the lucky ones.
Brenda’s greatest joy was her family. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Melissa LaMay (Thibodeau), and son in-law, Jason LaMay; her beloved grandchildren Jace & Chloe LaMay; and her ex-husband Gilbert Thibodeau. She also leaves behind her devoted siblings; Isabel (& Ralph) MacLean, Earl (& Judy) MacDougall, Jimmy (& Valerie) MacDougall, Gloria (& Steve) Lunney, Donna (& Jim) Pike, Bruce (& Marion) MacDougall, and sister in-law Pam Munn, as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved as and adored as if they were her own.
Brenda was reunited in peace with those who predeceased her; her cherished parents, David & Myrtle (Dyment) MacDougall, and her dear sister, Arlene MacDougall.
Our comfort comes in knowing she is finally free. Our deepest wish for Brenda is that she is dancing & singing to endless country music, enjoying all the sweets & treats her heart desires. Rest easy & shine bright Brenda Jean.
Cremation has taken place in Edmonton , AB. A celebration of Brenda’s beautiful life will be held in Saint John, NB, at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory.
