Our family is sad to say that our beloved dad, Bruce Dale Cunningham, born January 22, 1940 passed away peacefully on September 6th, 2026 in Edmonton.
Bruce was born in Hafford Saskatchewan and in childhood his family relocated to New Norway Alberta where Bruce spent his school years.
Bruce was active outdoors, and he loved sports. He particularly loved playing slow pitch throughout his adult life. He made many friends through his activities and he was always social. He enjoyed a successful career in the transportation business. Bruce was always community minded and he volunteered at numerous special events in Edmonton, the city he loved. Bruce developed and enjoyed a very special bond with his grand dogs and walks with them in the city and the country were a favorite part of his latter years.
Bruce was a special man. He had a twinkle in his eye, and a great sense of fun. He was a kind person to his core, a good role model, and a great dad. He will be missed but fondly remembered by his family and his many friends that he relished spending time with. We are all grateful to have been part of his life.
Bruce was predeceased by his mother, Emma, and father, Henry, brothers; Donald, Edward, William (Russell), James (Jim), and sister, Barbara. He is survived by his brother, Grant, son, Bruce (Kelly), son, Kevin (Andrea), daughter, Christine, granddaughter, Shaelyn (Ben), and great grandchildren, Savannah, and Parker.
Gravesite service with family and friends at a later date.
I knew Bruce from the trucking business and the ball diamond. May he rest peacefully.
I heard so much about this special man. I’m friends with Christine. God bless you all.
