Dale Lorne Neuman passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on February 23, 2026, following a courageous battle with numerous physical challenges.
Dale was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta on March 9, 1948. His early school years were at a one-room school just a few miles from the farm home where he grew up near Millet. He graduated from Leduc Composite High School. After high school, he attended NAIT and then worked for a time as a draftsman. His interest, however, was more on design and creativity so he returned to NAIT to complete an apprenticeship in cabinetmaking. Dale married Sheryl, the love of his life (most of the time!) on June 26, 1976.
Throughout Dale’s career, he worked in sales, cabinetry, home construction, renovations and warehousing. He very much enjoyed the last three years of employment working for a crane company where he was responsible for building maintenance. After retiring, Dale undertook gardening (he loved flowers but particularly favoured geraniums) and many projects improving their home. Dale loved cars and driving resulting in numerous trips to the Okanagan to visit family. Other travels included a cruise to Alaska and a trip to Mexico. Dale also ventured to Brazil for three weeks in 2014 to participate in a mission trip serving in the shop at the Chain of Love group of foster homes for children.
Dale made the decision to accept the Lord Jesus as his Saviour at the age of 10 and was baptized shortly after. He was a faithful participant in a local church for over 50 years, serving as treasurer, usher, small group leader and using his cabinetmaking skills to improve the church facilities.
Dale is lovingly remembered by Sheryl Anne, his wife of nearly 50 years, sister Shirley Ferry, brother Garry Neuman as well as Sheryl’s family: Dale Dreger (Judy), Dean (Lois), Dwight (Brenda) and Denise (Chris). He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Esther Neuman.
There will be a service to celebrate Dale’s life at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 6, at GraceLife Church of Edmonton, 51529A Range Road 262, Spruce Grove, Alberta.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the attending physicians and nursing staff of Unit 54 at the Grey Nuns Hospital for the wonderful care and support they provided.
