It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dalton Day Kitaguchi on July 27, 2025 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was 54 years old. He leaves behind his wife and best friend, Tammy Cargan and their two beautiful daughters, Brooklyn and Katelyn, his mother Cathie (Danny) Kitaguchi, brother Jay (Tina) Kitaguchi and their family as well as parents-in-law Gerry and Carole Cargan, brother-in-law Shane (Nicole) Cargan and nieces Jenna and Ava as well as many extended family and friends. Dalton was predeceased by his father, Dennis Kitaguchi.
Dalton will be missed by all who knew him, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Dalton was born in Hinton, Alberta and loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He played hockey in his younger years and loved his Edmonton Oilers (too bad they couldn’t win a cup for him this year). Dalton was the rock of our family, kept us laughing at all times and taught us to be friends with everyone. He will be missed and in our hearts forever more.
Rest in Paradise.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the end of September, date to be determined. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dalton’s name to charity of your choice.
I am deeply saddened to hear about Dalton’s passing. We were classmates in grade school and played hockey together, creating many fond memories. Our dads would sit together and cheer us on at our games. Dalton will be truly missed. My condolences to your family.
What a great loss. What a wonderful human being. I’ve worked with Dalton and played with Dalton. It was always joyous either way. He was a very funny guy and took his work and friends along for the ride. Tammy, Brooklyn , Katelyn. Love to you and your families and friends.

Tammy, Brooklyn, and Katelyn,
Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your extended family during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of working with Dalton during his time with Chemco at the Shell site. Dalton was an outstanding colleague, respected and liked by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was dedicated to his work and always made time to connect with those around him. He will be deeply missed.
I’ve already messaged you Tammy. I’m just not good enough with words. I can’t imagine. He was always the one. But I know you will continue his love and strength in the continued raising of your ridiculously beautiful daughters. I didn’t know Dalton well. But if it was the man that you chose, he was clearly special, because you are like no other.
My dear friend RIP You will never be forgotten Tammy and family my deepest condolences
