Garry Francis McIlveen passed away on December 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a spirit that brightened every room he entered. Born in Camrose, Alberta, in 1939, Garry spent most of his life in Edmonton, where he built a life and home defined by warmth, humour, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Garry is lovingly remembered by his wife, Dianne McIlveen, his partner in life and steadfast companion. He is also survived by his children, Dale (Janis) McIlveen and Dona-Rose (Peppino) Tavano, who carry forward his kindness, wit, and unmistakable sense of fun. A proud and devoted grandfather, Garry found immense joy in Isabella, Damon, Anelise, and Drew.

To his family, Garry was an extraordinary husband, father, and Papa/Grampa—a man whose love was constant and whose presence made every moment brighter. His love for his family was boundless and evident in the way he supported, protected, and celebrated those closest to him.

Known for his playful spirit, Garry delighted in sharing jokes and laughter, often with a mischievous sparkle in his eye. His humour was one of his greatest gifts, a way of connecting with others and turning everyday moments into cherished memories.

Garry’s generosity, joyful spirit, and deep devotion to those he loved touched countless lives. His memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter he inspired, and the lasting imprint he leaves on the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
