It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Garry Leonard Sigurdson of Sherwood Park, on May 16, 2025 at the age of 79. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Jeannette; sons Garry and James (Jocelyn); grandchildren Hailey, Shealynn, Keanne, Gavin, and Joesyph; sister Beverly (Vic); brother Russell (Lillian). Garry is remembered for his warmth, humour, and strong love he had for his family and friends. Garry was born in Arborg, Manitoba and raised on a mink ranch in White Rock, BC. Garry spent his career in the RCMP and CSIS, and raised his family in multiple locations across Canada before settling in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Garry has requested no service. In lieu of flowers the family invites you to honour his memory by taking a walk with a friend or loved one, sharing a drink or a cup of coffee, and remembering times spent with him.
I met Gary in 1965 when we were in training at Ottawa together with the RCMP He dropped in on me once when he was on leave and Ias stationed at Port Coquitlam BC He was a great guy and it would have been nice to kept in touch better but life has its turns I have a farm by Alsike Alta and will take a walk and reflect on the past RIP
I worked for Garry when he was in charge of the Saskatoon field office. Garry and Jeannette were some of the warmest and most welcoming people Glenda and I have ever had the pleasure to meet. A kind gentle personality and always willing to lend a hand, he also was a good card player. Our condolences are with Jeannette and family.
