It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Germaine Marie Anne Dansereau of Edmonton, Alberta, on Friday, May 22, 2026. She died peacefully with family by her side.
Germaine was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on July 26, 1939 (86 years old). She grew up with 11 brothers and 1 sister. Some of her passions were; traveling, camping/fishing, cooking, watching her beloved Montreal Canadiens hockey team, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders football team. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Germaine is lovingly remembered by her son Jack A Schneider (Leslie Sutterby) of Seneca Falls, NY; grandson Andrew Schneider; great-grandson Ayden; step-grandchildren Victoria Russell, Michael-Paul & Christopher Elia; great-grandchildren, Maria & Elizabeth; daughter Maureen M Schneider (Daniel Bureau) of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren Angela & Sean Comeau; great-grandchildren Addison, Brianna & Carter Armitage, brother Andre (Suzanne) of Kelowna, BC; sister Lucille Hernandez-Rodriguez of Calgary; sisters-in-law Irene, Leona, Virginia, Teena, Pierrette and Paulette Dansereau; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Germaine was predeceased by her parents Hercule & Parmelia (Ethier) Dansereau; grandson Kristopher Schneider; infant sister Marie, 10 brothers – Raymond, Paul, Rene, Clement, her twin George, Ronald, Denis, Maurice, Roger and Robert Dansereau; and sisters-in-law Irene, Olga, Diane and Anita Dansereau.
A Celebration of Life may be held in Edmonton, Alberta, in the fall of 2026.
