Gordon Douglas Beatty
Gordon was born on September 23, 1956 and passed away on July 20, 2025 at the age of 68.
Gord suffers no more! He will be fondly remembered for his wonderful deep voice and hardy laugh by his family, extended family and many friends. Gord always looked for the best in people and enjoyed life. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 29 years, Stella Durocher. Gord leaves behind his four wonderful children Jordan, Katrina, Keely and Alexandra as well as his sister Barb Bracko. He was predeceased by his parents Nellie and John Beatty and his brother-in-law Len Bracko.
His family is thankful for the professionalism in which care was provided over the last 4 years. You know who you are: emergency responders, hospital and clinic staff, physicians, surgeons, physio therapists, lab technicians, pharmacists, homecare and all the caregiving professionals. It takes a village!
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Gord was a good friend for over 30 years. We had many talks and laughs throughout that time and he gave me much sound advice through my life.
He was truly salt of the earth. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing, i remember his big hearty laughs, how he always signed onto his taxi dispatch shift with his handle “this is the nighthawk” always a positive vibe around him.
He loved his cars, from the big old classics to the little sportsters.
He will be missed, a truly unique one-of-a-kind character.
My sincere condolences to Stella and the whole family.
God bless you Gord. You are in a far better place now.
Gord was my Best Man—in more ways than one. Yes, he stood up for me at our wedding at Central Baptist in the summer of ’77. But he invited me to join his Christian folk band, Emmanuel (where I met my bride Sheila). Ten years later he gave me a job running his rental truck operations. I ended up moving to Vancouver, then Dallas TX, Nashville TN (where he visited us), Houston TX, and now Chicago IL. But we talked in the phone every few months, and remained close friends his entire life. Now he’s graduated ahead of me, and is receiving his rewards from our Master in heaven.
Gord was a great friend of ours for many years. Bill worked with him at Co-op taxi and then later 24/7. We saw him alot in the early years, but unfortunately lost touch in the later.
I will always remember his great laugh and smile. He will be missed. Condolences to the family.
Gord was an amazing guy with positive energy. He was always a pleasure to be around, and he will be missed tremendously.

Gord you will be missed . Till we meet again
Gord was a kind soul with a good heart. I will certainly miss our quiet talks and his sense of humour. Gord was as authentic a person as they get. God’s speed my friend.
I will miss or visits, your laugh and thoughtful advice. I was not deserving but deeply thankful for your friendship
I was always proud to call you friend. Having known you for close to 40 years; you were always an example to follow in life. Never doubt the positive impact you had in me and any life you touched.
