In Loving Memory of Doreen “Dawn” Miller

Our beloved Mom and Grandma passed peacefully in Sherwood Park, surrounded by her family, on April 12, 2026.

She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Doreen (Tyner) Hozack.

She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children Donny (Tammy), Jonathon, and Marcy (Wayne). Her siblings Danny (Pat), Murray (Tracy) and Kerri (Trever), and her grandchildren Rylee, Gavin, Brodee, Charlotte, Jack, Sadie, Aubrey and Ethan, all of whom she loved dearly. She had numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory always.

Mom will be remembered for her many years as the manager of the Marwayne liquor store. She always had a warm greeting and visit for community members and friends. Not only was she a familiar face in town but she was also a valued contributor to the community where she grew up and raised her family. Over the years she could be found working the booth at the rink, ball diamonds or rodeo, coaching ringette and ball teams, joining boards and stepping up when the need for working hands arose. She was often called upon to help with house cleaning, painting, refinishing furniture, catering, working the door at events and many more tasks. She had an incredible work ethic and wonderful attention to details. She was a pillar and rock for her community just as she was for her family.

To her family and friends she was a quiet anchor who went above and beyond to help and care for others over the years. She lived her life with grace and strength, and we are so proud to call her ours.

We will be sharing more about our beloved mother at a Celebration of Life to be held September 7th, 2026 at 1pm, at the Marwayne Community Hall.
