We are so very sad to announce the passing of John George “Jack” Hart of Sherwood Park, Alberta, who left us unexpectedly on July 4, 2025, after being hospitalized with a blood infection. He spent his final days surrounded by family and died peacefully at 74 years young.
Jack left this world on his own terms, just like he lived. His generosity, loyalty, humor, courage, business-savvy, and fun-loving nature will be remembered by so many (as will his ability to pull obscure trivia answers out of thin air). He leaves behind a legacy of entrepreneurship (he will rest easy knowing the business he built continues to thrive), laughter, one-liners, and deep abiding love.
Jack will be dearly missed by his wife Linda; daughters Susan and Leah; grandchildren James, Frances, and Zoe; sons-in-law Steven and Mark (who never did learn who was the favorite); sister Sharon; and too many others to name. You know who you are.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. In keeping with Jack’s love of sports, please put on your favorite team t-shirt, hoodie, or jersey and join us at Remax Field (yes the baseball diamond, you read that right) at 10233 – 96 Avenue NW Edmonton, Alberta – to share stories and laughter (and hugs) and raise a toast to Jack (he insisted). If a baseball game breaks out, all the better.
If you would like to donate to a cause in Jack’s memory, please consider the Heart and Stoke Foundation of Canada.
Linda and family my condolences to you all not only was Jack a great guy to work with, he was also a very great friend, so sad to here of his passing, we never did get in that last golf game. Take care
All the Best Barri and Annette Dodd
Be still and rest sweet cousin. Although it has been decades since we’ve laid eyes on one another, your amazing spirit and joy of life will always be remembered. My deepest condolences to Linda, Susan and Leah, and all who were fortunate in knowing you. Now be still and rest sweet cousin.
Much Love, Marsha Frease (nee Williams)
