Our beloved Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa entered into eternal rest on July 31, 2026, at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
He was predeceased by his wife, our Mother, Granny, and Great-Granny, Oriel Joyce Grimard, just three months prior, as well as his grandson, Alan.
Mourning his and her passing are his children, Alan, Arleen, Aureole, and Amber; grandchildren, Mandi, Brendan, Laura, Amie, Ruth, Jessica, Charlie, Bethany, Sharleen, and Tamara; and great-grandchildren, Jayde, Fabien, Sienna, Maddison, Melia, Corban, Maria, Maisie, Lewis, and Archie. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. Grimard, as he was known to his students, had a long teaching career spanning over 30 years. After retiring from teaching, he enjoyed 20 more years working as a Commissionaire at the Legislature in Edmonton, Alberta. He lived by example a life of devout faith and unconditional love.
The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. August 26th in St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, with reception to follow. Burial of his cremated remains will take place in Evergreen Cemetery following the reception.
Mr Grimard accompanied a group of us to Russia in the 70s, no easy task. I’m sure He was a great teacher. Deepest condolences to his family!
Rest in Peace Mr. Grimard. From grade 9 until now, I still find myself quoting you and I do my best not to “massacre the Queen’s English”! Thank you for all you taught us. My sincere condolences to the Grimard family, friends and former students.
RIP, Mr. Grimard. It was a pleasure seeing you work as Commissionaire at the Leg where I also worked.
Mr. Grimard was a titan of a teacher. He was kind, gentle but firm when he had to be with us miscreants LoL! I loved him as one of the teaching staff at JBT.
