In Loving Memory of Matt Deley

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, husband and grandfather Matt Deley on August 30, 2025, after a brief battle with gastric cancer at the age of 83.

Matt leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Gloria; his cherished children, daughter Kimberley; son Scott, his wife Canyon, and granddaughter Saylor; son Craig and his wife Terra; along with the mother of Matt’s children, Pearl Deley. He also felt blessed to share his life with Gloria’s children, Angela, Jared, and William with his wife Stephanie, and grandchildren, Jacob and Julianna.

A true entrepreneur at heart, he founded and nurtured several businesses throughout his life, leaving a lasting legacy for his children. His vision and determination earned him the respect and friendship of countless colleagues and acquaintances during his career.

After retiring in 2008, Matt embraced a life of travel and adventure with Gloria, exploring North America extensively in their RV with their many Westies over the years — Fred, Romeo, and Murphy.

A passionate aircraft enthusiast, Matt built several airplanes as his retirement hobby and spent many happy, hardworking days at his Cooking Lake hangar, where he formed lasting friendships.

He will be deeply missed by his family, many nieces and nephews, his friends in the community, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

In accordance with Matt’s wishes, there will be no service or celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. We extend our sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Grey Nuns Hospital.

Clear skies and tailwinds, dad, on your final flight.

Our thoughts are with you all. Gloria and he would stop to visit Dad when they were in the area which was so nice.
