It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kelly Frederick Helm on August 1st, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 55.
Kelly was born on April 22, 1970, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He lived a life full of quiet strength, kindness, and a deep love for those close to him. He was a devoted husband, a loving brother and son, and a cherished friend to many.
Kelly is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Kari Lamoureux, and their treasured fur baby Beanzie, who brought them so much joy. He will be deeply missed by his brother Warren Helm (Mary), sister Angie Stasiuk (Kevin) and Brother Toby Weishaar (Annie), and his parents Lori and Jim (stepdad) Weishaar. Kelly was a proud and caring uncle to Jaida Stasiuk, James Stasiuk, and Cohen Weishaar.
He was predeceased by his father, Harvey Helm in 1977, and grandparents.
Kelly’s life was filled with quiet passions, he was known for his amazing sense of humour, big heart, and loyalty to those he loved. His bond with animals, particularly his fur baby cat Beanzie, reflected his gentle nature. He will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kelly’s memory may be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute or the Edmonton Humane Society, two causes close to his heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Kingsway Legion Branch, 14339 – 50 St NW, Edmonton, AB. To honour Kelly’s love of sports, guests are encouraged to wear their favourite team jerseys or shirts.
I was very fortunate to have worked with Kelly. He was kind, caring and very smart. He quietly and studiously went about his work, guiding others to help make their work lives better. I remember his love of animals and we bonded over a shared love of cats. It was having pets that led us to knowing Kari beyond Kelly. Kari was a vet tech at the clinic we went to and was there for us when our cats crossed the rainbow bridge. On the other side of the rainbow bridge, I can see Kelly with all their animals taking good care of him. Rest well my friend.
I will always remember Kelly as Kari’s devoted husband. The most kind and chivalrous man who doted over his family. May he rest in peace until we meet again. Thanks for all the rides Kelly!!
Kelly will be remembered as a wonderful caring man. He will be deeply missed. Rest easy Kelly you were loved dearly by many. – your cousin Sheila
