Marcel Louis Boutet
October 21, 1947 – June 19, 2026
Beloved Husband and Father
Marcel was born in Amos, Quebec and lived all over Canada during his 36 years of service in the Federal Government, before settling in Sherwood Park, Alberta for the past 35 years.
During his long career in the Federal Government he held multiple higher levels of employment, including Director of Personnel in Yellowknife, NWT and in Regina, Saskatchewan.
From there he successfully completing a Career Assignment Program which ultimately resulted in his assignment to Edmonton, Alberta to become the Director of Lands and Trusts with the Department of Indian Affairs. During his time there he earned multiple awards including the Deputy Minister’s Outstanding Achievement Award.
He was married to Gaylen J. Boutet (nee Honeywell) for 55 ½ years and he was a great husband to her and an amazing father to their boys Christopher (Rachel and their three children Henry, Edward and Eleanor) and Nicholas, as well as our bonus son, Karol Kibler (Candace).
Marcel shared Gaylen’s love of her English Cocker Spaniels and participated in showing them in conformation and agility.
He also loved to play golf and loved to travel all over camping with his trailer.
He was the oldest of 10 children and is survived by his sisters Denise, Micheline and Louise. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Alida Boutet and his five brothers, Marc, Robert, Gaston, Jacques, Francois, and his sister Carmen.
BON REPOS , le grand frère je t’aimait beaucoup même si on se voyait pas beaucoup .La souffrance est fini Tu as bien fait de prendre ta retraite jeune car tu as profité de tes chiens,tes enfants, tes petit enfants et de la vie ..Mes sympathie à la famille. AMEN JE VAIS PRIER POUR TOI.
