Donald “Don” Joseph Fowler, 70, of Edmonton passed away unexpectedly in his home on June 21st, 2026.
Don was born in Ontario to parents Mabel and Francis on May 24, 1956. At a young age he discovered welding and loved the technical precision of the work. His work brought him west to Alberta where he met his wife, Yvonne. He took a lot of pride in his work and loved teaching his craft and talking about his long career as a welder and pipefitter. Don loved hunting, golfing, working on cars and telling stories about his life.
Don will be remembered by his wife, Yvonne (Barnes) Fowler; son, Mitchell, daughters Meghan, Melissa (Tapinder) and Miranda (Flamur); siblings, David (Donna), Scott (Georgie), Fred (Sara), Vivian (Larry Palmer), Elizabeth Moy, (Phi) Doris McKelvey, (Les), Kevin (Sue), John, Anne Spang (Kim), Janet Davenport (Vern), Frances Sharky (Mark), and sister-in-law Merrilyn; many nephews and nieces, as well as great nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis William Fowler and Mabel Elizabeth (Page) Fowler; and his brothers, Francis (Frank), Robert, Walter and Ernest Fowler.
The family wishes to extend gratitude to all who have reached out and sent various gifts during this difficult time. A Celebration of Life will be held at Fulton Hall (6115 Fulton Rd NW Edmonton, Alberta) August 9, 2026, 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
