Rosario Leger

It is with profound sadness we say good bye to husband, father, brother, friend. Rosario fought for 23 years to stay with the ones he loved. By fighting so hard to stay, he watched his children grow up and marry, and he welcomed 2 beautiful grand children whom he was extremely proud of. Born in New Brunswick he moved to Alberta permanently in 1980 where he began his life with his wife Linda whom he married in 1983. They remained happily married for the following 43 years. Rosario worked in railroad construction, finishing his career with Universal Rail.
Rosario will always be remembered and loved by his wife Linda, son Victor (Sara), daughter Vanessa (Philip) and grandchildren, Brooklyn and Harleigh. He is also loved and dearly missed by sisters, Stella(Danny), Yvette, Lillian, Linda. Brothers, Ariste(Debbie), Raymond, Reg(Debbie). Brother-in-law Dan(Sharon) and sister-in-law Patricia. Also many nephews and nieces both on east coast and here in Alberta. And anyone else that knew him and respected him for the wonderful person he was.
He was predeceased by his father Aime, his mother Rosarine, his brother Jean Paul, sister Irene, his brother in-law Victor and sister-in-law Helen.
He was extremely generous to his loved ones, and he had the best laugh and was so much fun. His family was the most important thing in his life and he was so proud of each of them. He knew what he believed in and was not afraid to stand his ground. He loved the Toronto Blue Jays, and Montreal Canadiens and anything Canadian. As many of his friends and family heard: GO JAYS AND GO HABS!
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cancer foundation of Alberta or Heart and Stroke. At his request no formal service will be held.
He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. And as his favorite hockey player, Maurice Richard, from the Hab’s used to say– “Never Give Up”.

We are heart broken about Rosie. We shared lots of fun times, which have made great memories for us to hold on to and keep him close. Our hearts are with Linda, the kids and grandchildren. Hi will be deeply missed. He is with family and friends and as Linda said, “He can finally have a few beer. Love you Rosario.

Always sad to say good bye the a dear old friend great memories growing up in Parkton NB and for welcoming us with your sister Yvette in your home in Calgary back in 1984 thanks for the memories …..you were one of the good guys taken away too soon but you will never be forgotten deepest condolences to all family & friends …thoughts and prayers are with you ….wishing you lots of courage during this difficult time

My friend Rosie will truly be missed.
We spent a half of a lifetime working together. Rosie was such a loyal friend, he was always there for me when the going got tough. Rosie’s family was very important to him, he never complained about anything except being away from them too long.

Heartbroken to hear about Rosie’s passing. No matter how far apart we lived, he always remained one of my dearest friends. I’ll always think of him whenever Montreal and Toronto take to the ice. I’m so grateful for all the years of laughter, friendship, and memories we shared.
