Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Jim Mones of Edmonton, AB; her daughters, Allison Mones and Lindsay Stratton; her cherished granddaughter, Sadie Stratton; her bonus daughter, Tracey (Derek) Besenski, and grandchildren Richard and Jess Grant; and her sisters, Catherine (Bruce) Cruikshank, Joan (Norm) Sterling, and Beverly Brown. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents, John Fraser (2003) and Elsie Ruth Fraser (2014).
Sandra was born September 15, 1955, in Vancouver, B.C., and lived much of her life in Edmonton, where she built an accomplished career and a full life alongside Jim, her partner of 52 years. Together they travelled the world and shared everything in between.
She will be remembered, above all, as the best grandma in the world — being Sadie’s Gigi was the greatest joy of her life. Fiercely loyal to her small, close circle, with friendships spanning decades, Sandra treasured her close friends and entire family above all else.
A Celebration of Sandra’s Life will be held on August 12, 2026, at 4pm at the Derrick Golf & Winter Club in Edmonton.

The family wishes to thank Kaitlyn Tansley for her warm support, comfort, and kind companionship to Sandra, which meant so much in her final chapter.

Linda and I are very sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing. Such a shock. Linda and I often remember and talk about the good times we had at Whispering Pines. We were alittle crazy back then.

Even if we did not have a chance to get together as often over the last few years, we always both said it felt like hardly nothing had changed, and we could pick up right where we left off, regardless of the months in between our visits.
Our friendship has always continue to feel like we were still next door neighbours,
And loved to reminisce and laugh a lot about our past.
