It is with heavy hearts that we regret to announce the sudden passing of our dear sister, Shauna MacArthur, on August 12, 2026, at the age of 56.
Shauna was predeceased by her parents, Pat and Shirley (Mohler) MacArthur. She will forever be lovingly remembered by her sister, Catherine (Laura); her brother, Patrick (Marian); and her nephews, Aidan and Cullen.
Shauna was born on March 23, 1970, in Edmonton. She graduated from high school in 1988 and attended the University of Alberta, where she obtained an Arts degree. Upon graduation, she moved to Jasper, where she cultivated her love of nature and gardening.
Shauna eventually returned to Edmonton and completed the Landscape Architectural Technology program. After many years of employment with Stantec, she moved to Winnipeg, where she completed her Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture.
Upon her return to Edmonton, Shauna began her very successful career with Arcadis IBI Group as a Landscape Architect. She took great pride in her work and brought her creativity, passion, and love of the natural world to everything she did.
Shauna’s infectious laughter and warm spirit will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, creativity, and a deep appreciation for nature that will continue to live on in those who knew her.
A Celebration of Life for Shauna will be held on October 18, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the Ramsay Room at Edmonton Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree in Shauna’s name.
It is with a heavy heart I write this. Losing Shauna has been a shock and heart break no one can prepare for. Her smile and laughter I will never forget. I will miss our weekly hangouts , shopping trips and fire pit nights. This loss is very hard to handle. We have lost such a special soul. There will be an empty spot in my heart forever. R.I.P my beautiful friend.
