Terry Van Nes, 79, of St. Albert, Alberta, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Terry was born on July 1, 1946, in Victoria, British Columbia, but travelled the country as a military brat. He graduated from NAIT in 1966 as a Communication Electrician and then over the years became a self taught computer nerd. In 1984 he struck out on his own starting TVN Consulting followed by Digiware Computer Services which he continued till he retired. When he was not working, Terry could be found on the roads riding either his bicycle or his beloved GoldWing motorcycle. He loved spending time with his family, especially his kids and grandkids. Terry also served his community for many years volunteering with The Rotary Club of St. Albert – Saint City.
Terry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy; his two daughters Patti (Jacques) and Kim (Nazz); and four grandchildren Jacob, Caleb, Kathryn/Griffin, & Aliyah. He also leaves behind two brothers (Bob, Raymond), one sister (Barb) and an extended family that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his son Kevin and his parents Leslie & Pamela Van Nes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Association of Alberta or a charity of your choice.
