Mother passed away peacefully at the age of 93. Her last days and hours were ones of prayer and reflection. She has returned to her blessed saviour and now resides in her heavenly home. Born January 1931, on Miscou Island NB, she was the daughter of the late Eldridge and Gladys (Crawford) Brown. Shirley lived the majority of her life in Miramichi NB before moving to Alberta in 2002.
She is survived by her daughter, June Barnes-Mutch (late Lindsay) of Sherwood Park AB.
Her grandchildren: Seth Mutch of Edmonton AB, Ashley Martin (Blake) of Escuminac NB, Heidi O’Neill (Bobby) of Edmonton AB, Mike Farrell (Jennifer) of Oakville ON, and Jason Farrell of Vancouver BC.
Shirley is survived by 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great -grandchildren.
She also leaves to mourn her best friend, Anna McKenzie of Miramichi NB. And her beloved cat, Princess.
She was predeceased by her husband Bev Barnes, her daughter Beverly Farrell, sister Alberta Hubbard and twin brothers Kingston Brown and Harold Brown.
In keeping with Shirley’s wishes a private graveside service will take place at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to an animal rescue would be appreciated by the family.
I know I am very late sending this! She was my friend when she lived in Miramichi! I thought of her many times and wondered how she was! She told me when last I was talking to her that she only had a short time left! I was thinking about her today and thought I would look online to see if I could find her! And I found this obituary!
