It is with heavy hearts that the family of William “Bill” Carveth announce his passing after a brief
illness on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the age of 84 years.
Bill will always be lovingly missed by his family, wife of 52 years, Sirpa; son, Vincent; sister,
Carol Scott; brother, Robert Carveth (Catherine Rayment); as well as nieces, nephews,
extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Marguerite and William Carveth; brothers-in-law, Richard
Scott, and Simo J. Nurme.
Bill will be remembered as an internationally recognized mechanical design engineer and author of numerous patents. He had a love for conceptualizing and making useful items with his hands. Most of all, Bill’s family will miss his kindness, warmth, and gentle loving nature.
Keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Edmonton Humane Society.
