Sadly, after a lengthy illness, we announce the passing of Gwendolyn Grace Davies (Nee Agg).
Gwen was born on July 21, 1941, in Toronto, Ontario to Gertrude and John Agg. As a child Gwen and
her Father explored many of the Ravines in Toronto and other similar activities. Sadly, at the age of
Twelve she lost her father because of a snow sled accident. She is survived by her husband Bill, children Barbara, John, and Will, 6 Granddaughters, 1 Grandson, 3 Great Granddaughters and 3 Great Grandson.
She met Bill in 1968 in Toronto where they lived until 1970. In 1970 Bill moved to Edmonton,
Alberta to work. Gwen, Barb, and John joined him in July 1970. Will was born in 1973. Originally Bill
was to work in Fort McMurray, so he had to scramble to find a place to rent in Edmonton. At that
time there were only two houses to rent appearing in the Edmonton Journal. So, it was a scramble.
They joined St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in the fall of 1970, and both became active
in the Church. Gwen was prominent in the Altar Guild having learnt a lot from predecessors.
Bill, Gwen, and family moved to Calgary bas a result of a job opportunity. There Gwen worked at
Woodwards where she made many friends and made more friends in their neighbourhood.

In 1982 Bill accepted a position to work overseas and in 1983 Gwen and Will moved to Wales to live
with Bill’s mother. This move resulted in many travels for Gwen and Will. Up the East coast of
England to the Lake District and a memorable trip with Bill to France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Gwen and Bill also spent a holiday in Guernsey in the Channel Islands.
On returning to Alberta in 1985 they bought a house in North Edmonton and immediately returned
to St. Michael and All Angels Church. In 1990 she joined the Rebekahs where she was a proud
thirty-five year member. She also joined the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant. This resulted in more
travels, mainly to the U. S. A.
Over the years A-Fib plagued Gwen along with other health problems and in August 2025 had a
heart attack. After hospitalization in August and November 2025, declining health resulted in an A-
Fib attack in February 2026 when she was admitted to the Royal Alexander Hospital where she
ultimately passed away on May 7, 2026

IN GOD’S EYES NOT ONE PERSON IS BETTER JUST DIFFERENT
