Robert (Bob) passed away peacefully at the age of 86, surrounded by loved ones. Family meant everything to Bob. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Sophie, son Robert Jr., daughter Karen (Lain), grandchildren Damon, Mathew, Luke, Eden, Mavvy and Fawn, his two surviving siblings Maxine (Fred) and Carol (Wally), and countless other family and friends. He will be remembered for his warmth, love, intelligence, and humour. Bob was a much beloved educator and counsellor for the Edmonton Separate school board. There will be no funeral, as per his wishes. Bob would appreciate a glass raised in his honour.

Dear Sophie, Maxine, Carol and the entire family…. I am so very sorry for your incredible loss. Bob made such an indelible mark on me and my love of science and the value of family. It was such a wonderful surprise to meet up with him and to meet each of you at your many family gatherings, and I treasure those memories deeply, and carry them with me through my life.
My heart and prayers goes to each and everyone of you, and may you find peace and comfort in knowing how much Bob’s life positively changed so many kids, and especially mine.
With love and hugs, Eldon
Large families are generally held together by a loving and respected individual within the clan. Since Grampa Tony’s passing, you have, admirably, fulfilled this role. We miss you dearly but do take comfort in knowing that you are now with your predeceased brothers, sisters and parents.
All large families require an individual to provide the guidance, wisdom and knowledge. Since Grampa Tony’s passing, you’ve fulfilled this position admirably. We all miss you dearly but on the other hand we are happy that you are joining your siblings and parents.
You were always the most caring brother and from childhood on my best friend. I loved you so much and was always grateful for your presence in my life and the lives of my daughter, granddaughter and grandson.
May this leg of your journey be peaceful and joyful.
I will always miss you my Big brother. You were always a wealth of wisdom and charity. Many of your sayings have ended up some of the family’s notable Bobisums for future generations. You have always been a rock.
